Once a desired outcome is described, progress towards it can be measured. Those who apply the Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence have been known to say, “In God we trust– all others, bring data!” Baldrige examiners often ask, “How does your company select, collect, align and integrate data and information? Will the measure selected support achieving goals?” In a webcast poll conducted by the Human Capital Institute, only 25% of respondents said that the requirements for measurable actions plans are fully deployed, without significant gaps in any work units.
