Blair advised recruiters and hiring managers, “don’t be fooled by a good candidate, as the best candidates are often not the best employees.” Many interviewers begin the interview incorrectly by bringing preconceptions and influences in with them.

In other words, interviewers are influenced by preconceptions and need to work to overcome these influences. “Like it or not,” said Blair, “if we are in a bad mood, candidates don’t perform well in our mind.”
