Being Really Strategic: Integrating Talent and Business Performance May 21, 2009 |
|||||
Moving beyond traditional measures and HR metrics, such as turnover, helped North Shore LIJ to identify how talent drives organizational outcomes. Instead of turnover, they measure talent engagement, which they have linked to patient satisfaction scores. They have experienced an overall gain in patient satisfaction scores of 2%. Measures of “I feel valued and understand how my work contributes to the success of the organization” represent statistically significant employee satisfaction outcomes that are added to executives’ dashboard and expected outcomes. To keep in touch with their talent pulse, at North Shore LIJ, they’ve moved beyond exhaustive talent satisfaction surveys to quick samplings (much the way patient satisfaction data is collected) so that results are shared quickly, making it possible to react and take corrective actions. |
