“We found that one reason federal agencies don’t convert interns into permanent positions is because the organization isn’t able to project out workforce needs to the intern’s graduation date; this tells us that the organization isn’t doing workforce planning,” shared Lavigna. Other recommendations he shared included collecting feedback and data from existing interns to improve programs and maintain relationships. |
