IBM’s new implementation was not exempt of challenges that required creative solutions. The company legal department had criteria for online candidate acceptance. To ensure fillable forms were exempt from intentional or accidental tampering by the candidates, a professional version of Acrobat 9 was utilized. Of all the onboarding documents, while there were a few that did require a physical signature by the candidate but not necessarily at the time of offer acceptance. The workaround was to still print a handful of documents that the candidate could sign but until their first week of their employment. And for cases where candidates were unable to access the web and there was a rush offer to complete, Sal Segura’s team established a workaround exception process that was paper-based.
