In a webcast poll conducted by the Human Capital Institute, asking which generations their retail company engages most effectively, the majority of respondents said they are moderately to very effective engaging Millennial and Gen Y talent. At Dell, these generations’ multi-tasking in multiple roles furthers their engagement.

In another webcast poll about the effectiveness of internal and external networking within and across generations, 47% of respondents felt their companies were moderately to very effective at internal and external networking across generations.

Eric Paul offered a compelling example of connecting retail talent with the business strategy-- the internal networking through Employee Storm increased the employee-family purchase volume from 10% to 17% by reaching out to friends and family to take advantage of purchase discounts, helping the company continue to grow. The financial performance that correlates with engaging retail talent is evident.
