The “fun on a bootstring culture” has shown itself in many forms… when they couldn’t afford a company picnic for their 40th anniversay, each store hosted a volunteer day to clean up their community. The result was more engagement with the communities where their stores reside. They switched from a big product training budget to “free lessons” and “full moon fever” to test products that Guides can voluntarily participate in on their days off-- and they come because they don’t want to miss the experience.
