Bleimeister shared his assessment of the current state of talent acquisition in the federal government. “Mission challenges impact talent acquisition. These challenges include a large civilian workforce, increase in retirements and a growing competencies gap.” Each one of these challenges, he pointed out, require significant ramp-up period to affect change. Mission challenges lead to structural, or operational challenges. “Structural challenges in the U.S. Army have us developing a scalable operating model. We’ve asked: can our organization adapt quickly to changing conditions?” he added. |
