On a large scale, Best Buy engages talent in workforce planning using a site called “Dream Job” www.bestbuydreamjob.com . In contrast to traditional competency models, this approach engages talent in bringing their workforce planning process to life. Just one of the tools on their Dream Job site gets 400 hits a day. Kristina Parker explained that the Dream Job website was created in about two weeks and launched for about $1000. More importantly, when people went home after work, they could access the site outside of the company’s firewall. |
