To check the effectiveness of their onboarding, surveys are sent out, initially to new executives, and now to newly promoted executives. Survey results from John Deere’s executive onboarding have been 80-85% favorable on items such as:

  • The executive onboarding process helped me to successfully transition into the organization.
  • The executive onboarding process enabled me to begin building my network across the company.
  • The executive onboarding meetings provided a good foundation on a broad spectrum of topics.
  • My manager has provided strong support in helping me integrate into the organization.
  • Overall, how satisfied were you with the executive onboarding process?

The effectiveness of executive onboarding has had a ripple effect on talent engagement throughout the organization. Integrated onboarding at John Deere (that includes executives hired outside the company, executives promoted from within the company, and onboarding roadmaps for all salaried new hires) provides a tremendous foundation for the business success their talent achieves.
