For new salaried talent, even before the person’s first day a special website prepares them to navigate the company. A welcoming message from the company CEO pops up when the new hire accepts their employment offer and logs into the website. Then on their first day, there is a live on-site orientation for new salaried hires at each John Deere location.

In a webcast poll conducted by the Human Capital Institute, we asked about use of technology to execute and track onboarding effectiveness; 35% of respondents used technology to do more than one of the following:

  • New Hire Forms completion
  • Plan resources needed
  • Set up high-touch meetings
  • Schedule paced learning
  • Survey talent about onboarding effectiveness
  • Do the above at multiple points in time
