The Coaching Action Plan (CAP) provides an effective and efficient way to plan and deliver coaching with greater focus and organization. Regular coaching and communication is key to the success of virtual teams.

Key components of the CAP include:

  • Coaches information, date & time, and topic of coaching session
  • Metric targets and actual results that triggered the coaching session
  • Methodology to determine the coaching style
  • Specific targeted questions to get to the root cause of the behavior
  • Action plan with tasks, timelines, and follow-up sessions
  • Task log and calendar to ensure timely follow-up session(s)
CAPs are built to accommodate two coaching interactions:
  • Manager and team lead coaching
  • Team lead and associate coaching
