Retailers are still moving forward with talent acquisition projects, because:

  • A larger talent pool requires greater level of management
  • They gain a competitive edge for market turnaround
  • Through “top grading” they can recruit top talent to replace lower performers
  • Inactive or passive job seekers may be available for proactive recruitment efforts
  • Greater efficiencies are being required of HR staff (downsizing has caused many HR Generalists to assist in recruiting efforts, who require streamlined tools to handle regional recruiting)
  • Retailers utilizing talent acquisition tools reduce, or eliminate 3rd party recruiters as a cost reduction strategy
  • Talent pools for seasonal help (through interactive email and online administrative processes) are easier to acquire
