The successful executive assimilation model used at EMC begins with an internal meeting to review the “readiness plan”. This prepares the organization to bring the new executive onboard. An intake interview with executive development is conducted within 30 days of hire. By 90 days, all key stakeholder meetings have occurred. By 120 days, individual development plans are in place with EMC’s executive development team.

Coaches are available to EMC executives throughout the world, and while coaching is individualized, it reflects the company’s branding and enterprise priorities. Typical issues addressed in coaching are the pace at which a new executive brings about change, especially if they are asked to turnaround business performance or lead a rapidly growing division.
